Waist Measuring Guidelines: Stand straight and relaxed with heels together. Measure around the NATURAL waistline, over the body (not over clothing), keeping the tape parallel to the floor. It is critical that you measure the natural waist (not the drop waist) between the ribs and the hips. The number of inches shown is the waist measurement. For an accurate waist measurement, do not allow the person being measured to suck in their stomach. This may result in a uniform that will fit too snug.

The proportion of the yoke is odd, the skirts have a lot of give in the elastic waist, but the yokes are significantly tighter than the limit of the elastic waist, which means if the person wearing the skirt has any sort of stomach there's an odd puckering on the yoke. There really need to be dimensions given of the garment, rather than a generic size chart. I sized up for most of the dancers I was dressing, and I'm very glad I did because several of them are barely able to get the yoke of the skirt over their hips when putting the skirts on.
